If you’re looking to escape the heat in a cool building brimming with history this weekend, visit Donington le Heath Manor House!
We are hosting the Sealed Knot Living History Group who will be populating the house and gardens taking visitors to the Manor back to the turbulent years of the English Civil War. There will be gun firing demonstrations as well as crafts, cookery and costumes from the period.
For those who want to enjoy the sunshine, you can relax in the beautiful 17th century gardens and explore the wide range of plants that the household would have enjoyed and used. The group contains many experts on the period, who would be only too happy to answer your questions about life in the 17th century.
The 17th century living history weekend is open from 11 – 4pm on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July 2009.
Donington le heath Manor house is on the South West edge of Coalville, Leicestershire.
